Job Description and Duties

This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.

The reporting location for this position is Caswell Memorial State Park in Ripon, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Supervisor.   

The primary functions of the Park Maintenance Assistant are facility housekeeping and grounds keeping. The position is responsible for maintaining the facilities in a clean and sanitary condition, acts as a lead person for seasonal employees, court referrals and is responsible  for keeping the work site in a safe manner by paying attention to the safety of other employees working with them as well as the public.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

The incumbent’s work schedule will be Friday to Monday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR .

This position is designated as not telework eligible.
